Once she picked up the call and listened to the report, she couldn’t care less about the rules and rushed into Emery’s study immediately.
“We have a situation, Mr. Wright! It’s Janus and his men!
Janus and the core members from his branch have all been crippled! While I have no proof that it’s Harvey, I highly suspect that it’s him or his men.
“The worst part is, someone left Janus and his branch in front of your estate! Many have noticed this, and some of the reporters are already heading this way. We need your orders, Mr. Emery!”

“Does he have any proof that shows I’m the one who forced him to do this? Without any proof, whatever Janus said is nothing but an accusation. To be honest, it’d make things easier if he’s willing to accuse me and betray us. Traitors are easier to deal with than loyalists, after all…” Emery went on with a faint smile.
Betty didn’t know why, but she shuddered when she saw what was happening.
“But… What if Janus continued to be loyal?” she asked instinctively.
However, she quickly realized she had said the wrong thing, and quickly changed her tone.
“No, no. Janus has always been loyal to you. If you want him dead, he’ll kill himself. If you want him to live, he’ll stay alive even if he’s on the brink of death.”
