“Harmony, we need his help. No matter where he takes you tonight or what he wants you to do, just listen to him. If he takes you to a fashion store, you go with him,” said Sera.
Harmony blinked. “Why would he take me to a fashion store, Sera?”
“Just a hunch. It’ll be an extravagant ball tonight,” said Sera nervously. Harmony sent Ezekiel her address and furtively clutched her chest. Her heart was still pounding.
Back in the hotel, Catalina hid on the balcony and made some calls. In the end, she put on a smug smile. She just found herself a connection and got herself a ticket to the ball. She would attend it and see how Harmony would embarrass herself. Wearing an out-of- season dress to that event is just begging to be laughed at. The trolls picked up their slack, too, and found out where Harmony got that dress. They humiliated her in the media. Catalina would just need to make a video out of Harmony’s embarrassing performance at the ball and use the trolls to attack her, and Harmony’s popularity would fall.
Catalina went back to the lounge and told Reuben, “You stay here tonight, Reuben. I need to go out for some business.”
“Where are you going?” Reuben looked at her.
Catalina mused over it and answered honestly, “I got myself a ticket into the ball, but I can’t take you with me.”
Reuben was disappointed. To entertainers, it would be an honor to be able to join the ball. He smiled, got up, approached Catalina, and put an arm around her waist. “I understand. Go.”
Happy, Catalina patted Reuben’s cheek. “You’re signed to my company, Reuben. I’ll make sure you get famous.”
Reuben had no choice. Since he had decided to rely on this woman for fame and success, then he must suppress his true self and be nothing but a lapdog for her and please her.
Subsequently, Catalina picked up her bag and left.
Only then did Reuben’s face fall. He slammed his pillow onto the ground. I feel like I’m nothing but a lapdog for her. Look at Harmony. The rich guy she hooks up with spoils her like a child.
Catalina was going to get the latest dress so she could one-up Harmony later that night. And she had another goal. She would try to get to know Harmony’s new sponsor. She knew she was a great woman, too, so if Harmony could hook up with that guy, she could too. If she could hook up with Harmony’s new guy, then Harmony would be kicked out of the game.
Ezekiel’s car stopped before the entrance of a fancy restaurant. Harmony and Sera were already waiting outside. They were met with a motorcade, and Sera sighed. He’s not your ordinary rich guy.
One of the bodyguards opened the door and told Harmony, “Please come in, Miss Mayo.”
Harmony turned back and waved at Sera. She then walked to the car, and the silhouette in the passenger seat made her heart race. “Mr. Weiss,” she said before getting into the car.
“We’ll need to make a pit stop,” said Ezekiel.
“Where are we going?” asked Harmony, surprised.
“A boutique. I picked a dress just for you,” said Ezekiel.
Harmony was surprised. Hey, that’s a bit like what Sera said. He’s taking me to a boutique. “Sure. Thanks, Mr. Weiss,” said Harmony gratefully.
The boutique had the latest dresses and a lot of separate products, too. They were unique and created by top fashion designers. Most people didn’t even have the money to rent it.
Ezekiel took Harmony into the store and looked at the shopkeeper. “Pick the most suitable gown for her.” He didn’t name his budget, but one look from him, and the shopkeeper knew this man didn’t care about price. She happily led Harmony to the second floor.
